A bud of mine mentioned last night that "there are no coincidences" regarding how couples meet. Every 'coincidence' is usually an opportunity made by one of the parties. It's an interesting thought, and I guess it's true. You never know if someone actually intentionally went out of his/her way to 'bump' into you or catch your attention. It's not a bad thing; sometimes we have to take matters into our own hands!
I sort of believe in fate/coincidence. I don't believe that it's always about an opportunity exploited by someone :P Let me tell you my reasoning.
Back in the days of high school, when I was in Grade 9 I took Visual Arts. So, I always hung by the 'Art' corner after school. I noticed a boy; he was a cute boy. He seemed very timid and shy, yet happy at the same time. Hey, I was only 14 at the time, but I guess you could say I was drawn to him. I didn't know his name, what grade he was in, but I wanted to get to know him better.
Well, as they say, out of sight, out of mind. After grade 9, I never saw him again. Maybe he transferred out, or maybe we were never in the same classes, until OAC. BAM! There he was, in the same homeform as me. Coincidence? Perhaps. Fate? It could deemed so by some. I felt as though someone (maybe God) was giving me a second chance to know this person. After months of eyeing each other, we finally started dating, and did so for 2.5 years :P
If fate hands me a second chance, I won't hesitate.

Ok, so first things first...
"Back in the days of high school, when I was in Grade 9 I took VISUAL ARTS...but I guess you could say I was DRAWN to him."
Heh heh...was this "coincidental" or "intentional"? ;)
But I digress...it's definitely up to personal opinion. Myself, I'm situated in the "coincidence" or "opportunity" camp. I don't believe that future events are 'mapped out in the stars' or what have you, but, rather, random or dynamic. I'm inclined to believe that relying on the concept of fate could make someone more complacent, as they may believe that things will just work themselves out, and possibly discourage them from taking a more active role in their life.
LOL, that was coincidental! I didn't even notice that :P
I'm going to try to guide my future.

I think sometimes I rely too much on fate. But I do believe that things are "mapped out in the stars".
I believe there ARE a lot of non-manipulated coincidences! It's what makes stories "cute" rather than "creepy", hahaha. Shhh...don't tell Dennis I said that. =P
